Every Wednesday 8am to 1.30pm and Saturdays 7am to 2pm, Eumundi

A market to awaken the senses! Great food, great wares and great music. Whether you are searching for a present, something for the home, skincare, jewellery, fashion or accessories, Eumundi markets won’t disappoint. Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanical Gardens

Open every day, 7am to 5pm, Palm Creek Road, Tanawha

Take the kids to explore these gorgeous gardens. There are lots of different walks to choose from, including the 1km lagoon walk and the 2km creek walk. Ginger Factory

Open daily, 9am to 5pm, Pioneer Road, Yandina

Explore the lush gardens of the Ginger Factory and let the kids have a play on the undercover playground while you relax with a coffee and scone in the café. There are a range of unique shops to browse and you can pay extra to ride the train, watch the bee show or ride on the Bubbleworks water ride. A great all-weather attraction. +READ MORE

Nutworks

Open daily, 9am to 5pm, Pioneer Road, Yandina

Marvel at the range of great nut products available and watch the factory workers making some great treats (the factory viewing area is open from 9am to 2pm daily). There is a café in store too, and free tasters. Nutworks is just opposite the Ginger Factory, so you could easily combine a trip to both for a great morning or afternoon out. +READ MORE

Kings Beach Swimming Pool

Open all day every day, Kings Beach, Caloundra

It’s easy to spend the entire day at Kings Beach without spending a penny. Take the kids swimming in the saltwater beachside swimming pool and then walk them further along the esplanade to enjoy the water park. Mount Coolum

Open daily, Tanah Street West, Mount Coolum

A great climb that is achievable with kids. Take it slow and make the most of the vantage points on the way up to the top. The views from the summit are spectacular and it’s much easier on little legs going down. Bribe the kids with a smoothie from the van in the car park afterwards if you have to! +READ MORE
